Thank you for using ScrollGallery™ ("the app", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle, in plain language. ScrollGallery™ is designed to be private by default — your photos, videos, and activity stay on your device.
If you have any questions, contact us at the support email listed at the bottom of this policy.
The short version
ScrollGallery™ is a local, offline photo and video gallery app.
It does not have accounts, and you never sign in.
It does not upload, back up, sell, or share your photos, videos, or personal data.
It does not include ads or third-party advertising trackers.
The app is read-only — it never edits, deletes, renames, moves, or uploads your media files.
The only time any information leaves your device is if you personally choose to send a bug report and opt in to including an activity log. This is never automatic and never required.
What information the app accesses
Your photos and videos
To show you a gallery, ScrollGallery™ needs permission to read the photos and videos already stored on your device. The app displays these files but never changes them. It does not copy them off your device and does not send them anywhere.
Data the app creates and stores on your device
As you use the app, it saves some information locally on your device only to make features work — for example:
Which items you have liked
Your view history (what you've watched and when)
Collections you create and the items in them
Tags you add
Your settings and preferences
This information is stored in the app's own private storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is removed.
The Bug Report feature and activity logs
ScrollGallery™ includes a "Report a bug" feature to help us fix problems. Here is exactly how it works and what it means for your privacy:
The app keeps a small activity log on your device to help diagnose problems. This log records how you interact with the app, in technical but non-identifying detail, for example:
Which screens you open and switch between
Feed swipes — the direction, rough speed, and a description of the item shown: whether it is a photo or a video, its dimensions and file size, and a video's length
Searches — which kinds of filters you used (for example media type, date, size, duration, or that a file-name or custom-tag filter was used) and how many results appeared
How many items are in your history when you open it
Settings you change and their new values
Errors and crashes
The log deliberately does not record your media file names, album names, custom tag names, or the actual text you type into search — only the generic kind of action. Entries older than 2 hours are deleted automatically, and the log is stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
You can view, clear, or completely disable the activity log at any time in Settings → Support → Activity log. If you disable it, nothing is recorded and any existing log is erased.
When you choose to report a bug, the app can draft an email for you addressed to our support address. You review this email in your own email app before anything is sent.
If you tick "Include activity log", the recent log text is added to the end of the email message (as text, not as a separate file) so you can review it before sending. Including the log is completely optional — you can report a bug without it.
Nothing is sent automatically. The app only prepares the email draft. You decide whether to actually send it, using your own email app. If you never press send, nothing leaves your device.
We use information you send us in a bug report only to diagnose and fix the reported problem. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.
Aside from a bug report that you choose to send, no information is ever transmitted from the app.
What we do NOT do
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or location.
We do not upload or back up your photos or videos to any server.
We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs that track you.
We do not sell or share any personal information with third parties.
We do not require an internet connection to use the app's core features.
Internet and network use
ScrollGallery™ is built to work offline. It does not need a network connection to browse your gallery. The only network activity that can occur is your own email app sending a bug report if you choose to send one — and that is handled by your email app, not by ScrollGallery™ directly.
Children's privacy
ScrollGallery™ is a general-purpose gallery app and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Data security
Because your data stays on your device inside the app's private storage, its security is tied to the security of your device (for example, your screen lock and device encryption). We recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode or biometric lock.
Your control over your data
You are always in control:
You can clear your view history, likes, collections, and other app data from within the app or through your device's app settings.
You can revoke the app's access to your photos and videos at any time in your device's system settings.
Uninstalling the app removes the data it stored on your device.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may be highlighted within the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
